New Books:
I hope you will be pleased with this list of new additions- it contains some beauties. And yes, it is still cold here in Michigan. Snow still covers the garden but my forced bulbs on the windowsill are blooming- Tulips, Daffs and Hyacinths give me enough pleasure to carry on until the real thing comes. The Knickerbocker, Schoverling, Daly & Gales 1927 was the first with Knickerbocker in the attempt to save this venerable old company by bringing in a partner. Several people have asked for an AYA shotgun catalog. Churchill Guns was a great old British gunmaker. The three Wartime Marlins fill a gap for this line and the '46 is a beaut. Standard Arms wasn't around long ('09-'12) but thanks to Al Carleton, Doug Elliott and Mark Foster we have the first, middle and last catalogs. I've had requests to a manual on the US version of the Enfield rifle as used by Sgt. York in WWI so here it is.

Thompsons are always popular and I added a bunch of manuals and handbooks this month from Auto Ordnance and the War Department, even the Brits had a manual for the venerable Chicago Typrwriter! Meanwhile Meine Waffe (My Weapon) told the German soldier in WWI how to care for and use his rifle.

I also fleshed out the Winchester collection thanks to the Carleton brothers and Bill Lewis. I am surprised the Salesman's manuals for Winchester don't sell better. They are each different and very informative about the history of the company, uses and other tidbits invaluable to a collector We have the 1938, 1950 and 1964 manuals available. Please check them out.

Also new this month are a pair of important Colt's from the wartime era, an '03 S&W and a Winchester Model 1200 Gunsmith Manual. Sight and Telescope collectors won't want to miss the Karl Kahles Telescope catalog of 1937 and we have a Redfield '63 to balance it off. Yes and an interesting 1879 Wm Baker flyer for $2 and a 1940 Heiser for you leather collectors. Finally, the Wm Powell (UK) c1911 needs a glance as does the Iver Johnson book by Goforth and a pair of Webley Shotgun catalogs- '55 and '72 (they have no webpage yet- see Recent Additions link on left of website).

Must Read:
If you haven't yet done so, please read the About Us link on the website. It explains a lot of things such as why graphics vary in books, why I do this in the first place, errors and mistakes, guarantees, loans and more. Also, if you see something in the Coming Soon page you want, let me klnow and I'll move it up the list for you.

Caution Warning:
I recently forwarded a question about Ross rifles to a Ross expert. It had to do with a Ross sniper rifle my customer had bought from a London Auction firm. Turns out the rifle was not authentic and the expert had told the auction house about it before the auction but they went ahead with the sale anyway. My customer bought the gun relying on the fanciful description and now there is trouble brewing in them thar hills. Caveat Emptor.

For Book Authors Out There:
We have done pretty well with Bob Elliott's book on Lefevers and Art Phelps book on the Merwin Hulbert, and more recently the Goforth- Iver Johnson book. We won't challenge Borders for top spot as a book seller but we are selling them so if you have a book (especially self-published books) that you think will fit in with my listings please give me a call at 810-225-3075.

Gun Prices :
I get two or three calls a day from people who want me to tell them how much Pappy's old gun with the wooden stock is worth. I usually tell them to go to Barnes and Noble of sililar bookstore and look in the Standard Catalog of Firearms by Schwing or the Blue Book of Gun Values to get an idea. If any of you can think of a better suggestion I could make please let me know.

Website Change:
If you have any problems or questions related to the changes I made in late October please let me know. I changed the entrance of the website to make it simpler for computer novices. Those of you who are more computer savvy can still select the old front page by going to the More Advanced Computer User link. All the links splitting the collection up by era, maker, nation, ammo, reloading etc are accessed through the Advanced link.

Also, as usual, the recent addition links are below.

(Please let me know if you have any problems with the website where I confess to an occasional bug.)
