Daniel Lefever joined with E S Dangerfield in Auburn New York in 1870 in gun manufacturing. In 1874 he joined E S Barber in Syracuse in the Barber and Lefever Company. From 1899 - 83 He worked independently until 1884 Lefever Arms was incorporated in Syracuse . He was not president but superintendent. He left Lefever Arms and formed the D.M. Lefever and Sons in Syracuse until from 1901-1902. In 1903 he moved to Defiance Ohio to form the D. M. Lefever Gun Mfg. In 1905 he moved to Bowling Green , Ohio forming the D. M. Lefever Company and in 1906 moved back to Syracuse and died in that year.
